Eastern Europe•Textured Impasto & Whimsical Art
Oksana Zhornichenko
Oksana Zhornichenko was born in 1971 in Luhansk, where she currently lives and works. Although she dreamed of painting her entire life, circumstances did not allow her to pursue it in childhood, and she later believed it was too late to start. However, at the age of 50, her husband and son gifted her everything needed for oil painting on her birthday, which inspired her to start creating her expressive artworks.
Artist Statement
"I paint with heavy textures to give my subjects a physical, tactile presence that jumps off the canvas and triggers visceral memories."
